It's okay

The box says it's for ages 6 & up, but a 6 year old certainly would not have the patience or an adequate attention span for this kit.
This is just another construction set, and it's got the lowest ratio of results-to-time-spent of any construction set I've ever used (with the possible exception of the plastic, molecule-building set I used for Chemistry I in my first year of college). For example: My fiance and I played with it for 2-3 hours (he'd gotten it as a gift). It took me that long to build a basic, no-frills, mostly-hollow tower that ended up being 3 x 3 x 12 inches. I was on task and working on the same structure the entire time. Nuff said.
It would've also been nice if it'd come with instructions on how to build the other items pictured on the box (only instructions for basic shapes & the "castle" were included).
Bottom line: This fails miserably as a children's toy. I would only buy this product if I wanted to make a coin structure for display/decorative purposes. |
